Marvellous Maths

In Maths, we have been learning about what makes a pair and how to make a group. We explored looking at objects that are pairs, e.g. ears, shoes, hands. After reading ‘The Smartest Giant in Town’, we noticed George the giant wore a pair of socks. The next day, we found a box of socks from George. He challenged us, to match all the socks by looking at the patterns.

Next, we explored the woods and working in pairs; and found objects that could be a pair, e.g. leaves, stones, sticks. Once we collected our nature objects, we realised we had more than pairs and decided to put the objects in groups.
